At Altramas Hypnotherapy I work with both elite athletes and competitive sportspeople to achieve exceptional levels of peak performance. The good news however is that these same techniques are available to everyone, from the club footballer or rugby player looking to up his or her game to the recreational golfer who wants to improve their handicap. As sport becomes ever more competitive and the competition gets better and better, correct mental preparation and training becomes even more important. Altramas Hypnotherapy using a combination of approaches including hypnosis, NLP, EFT and EMDR is ideally placed to help you take your game to the next level.

The use of hypnosis in sport has been around for many years. In the 1956 Melbourne Olympics the Russian team had eleven hypnotists as part of their coaching staff. In 1980 over half of the Australian swim team used hypnosis tapes as part of their training regime. In an Irish context, Steve Collins beat Chris Eubank for the World Boxing Organisations Super-Middleweight title in 1996. Steve had used Dr Tony Quinn, a renowned hypnotherapist, who helped Steve to deliver twice as many punches as Eubank.

Most professional sports people now use some form of mental management in their preparations. Developing the mind game is widely considered to be an essential part of an athletes training regime. So it is no secret that sports men and women use visualisations, mental rehearsal, affirmations and many other invaluable techniques to reach the top of their respective sports. Tiger Woods practices the perfect swing and delivers an inch perfect shot in his mind before he delivers it in reality. Likewise Johnny Wilkinson the England Rugby Teams inspirational fly-half has perfected the art of focused concentration with his kicking routine. However what is not perhaps so well known is the fact that hypnosis for sports improvement is available to anyone wanting improved performance in their respective training, sport or game.

Each consultation is specifically designed on an individual basis but may focus on one or a combination of the following areas;

Goal setting .
Instilling super self confidence and belief.
Development of concentration and focus.
Reduction of pre-competition stress and nerves.
Use of visualisation and mental rehearsal to develop new techniques and a focus on goal attainment.
Development of success strategies.
Use of anchoring and hypnosis to access peak state and get into the “zone”.
Learn self hypnosis. A skill that can be used in all aspects of the client’s life.
Install complex behaviours unconsciously.
Get excited about winning.

Very often athletic and sports performance is hampered by a personal issue in the client’s life. It does not matter how hard you train and prepare if your overall performance is being hindered by stress, insomnia, or some other trauma.

Again hypnotherapy brought to bear in these areas will have cumulative benefits in all aspects of the person’s life, including sports performance.

Whether you are an individual who wants to achieve more or a team coach who would like to discuss the many benefits of using hypnosis in sports either for an individual or a team please feel free to contact me to arrange a meeting with no obligation.

You will be impressed. Hypnosis is completely safe, natural and results in lasting change very rapidly.
